  • Life stressors (e.g., bullying, loss of important relationships, loss of job)

  • Anxiety and/or depression management

  • Skill building (e.g., social skills training, improving self-esteem, assertiveness, conflict resolution, organisation and planning)

  • Anger management

  • Addressing school refusal

Parenting Support

Parenting can be stressful at the best of times. Certain stages of your child's development might feel more challenging than others, which can make you feel uncertain or burned out. I believe that all parents are experts when it comes to their children. I aspire to offer non-judgmental guidance and support during stressful times, using my understanding of research in child development. Areas I can support parents with include:

  • Addressing challenging behaviours in children

  • Understanding their child's diagnosis (ASD, ADHD, Specific Learning Disorder, etc)

  • Mindful parenting

  • Supporting their child's big emotions

  • Setting boundaries with children

ASD Diagnostic Assessment

An Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessment helps us find out if a person meets the diagnostic criteria based on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition (DSM-5). The assessment procedures vary between child and adult clients. I offer the ADOS-2 assessment, which is deemed to be part of the gold standard for child and adolescent ASD diagnostic evaluation. You can schedule an initial appointment with me to discuss your referral concerns and next steps to address them before committing to an assessment.

Psychoeducational Assessment

This assessment looks at a range of areas of cognitive ability (or IQ, in layman's terms), academic achievement, executive functioning skills and a number of social, emotional and behavioural factors to determine where a student is at with regards to what areas they are strong in and what, if any, areas they may be having difficulty with.

The purpose of this assessment is to provide the student, parents and school with a clear understanding of where a student is at academically in order to put processes in place to help them make progress in any areas that are presenting a challenge. It is also suitable for students with learning difficulties, such as suspected dyslexia.

Cognitive assessments (for 6 year-olds and above) used:

  • Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Fifth Edition: Australian and New Zealand Standardised Edition (WISC-V)

  • The Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, Fourth Edition (WAIS-V)

Academic assessment used:

Wechsler Individual Achievement Test - Australian and New Zealand Standardised, Third Edition (WIAT-III A&NZ)
