Are you a clinician with an interest in providing quality diagnostic assessments for chilld and adolescent clients querying autism? Do you sometimes feel confused with high-masking presentations and inconsistent data from the parent and teacher questionnaires?

Ultimately, no single assessment tool or measure can diagnose (or not); it is the clinician who consolidates findings and draw appropriate diagnostic conclusions. This is why it is so important for us all to continue developing competency in conducting clinical interviews and interpreting behavioural observations to clarify diagnoses. To rely on more than just quantitative data and informant reports, especially when it comes to assesing high-masking clients.

JOIN ME LIVE in this 2-hour online professional development session on 18 February 2025 (Tuesday). The last half an hour will be reserved for Q&A.

Further details below:

In this PD, I'll be referring to the DSM-5-TR ASD criteria and discussing the non-stereotypical autistic symptoms beyond what is shown in the DSM examples. These symptoms are common in high-masking profiles, but are often unbeknownst to many assessors and clinicians. I will also be showing you the different clinical interview methods I use in my assessments to illuminate any masked autistic behaviours.
